A half dozen people have sent me this link to the robotic sea turtle designed by the Tallinn Institute of Technology. Looks interesting.
While fins hydrodynamic performance can be higher than that of propellers, manouverabilty may be a difficult problem to solve from the hardware and the software points of view.
That looks awesome! Can we have some fins for OpenROV too? :)
I've always been interested on biological propulsion arrangements, I like this turtle a lot.
I find fins propulsion a lot more interesting than propellers.
